Top 5 Copperplate Calligraphy Classes

Copperplate is arguably the most popular traditional script. It is an 18th century script which originated in England. It’s derived from a form of handwriting known as English Roundhand. It is known as copperplate as previously the copybooks from which students learned it was printed from etched copper plates. Have you always been wanting to learn or improve your Copperplate Script? If yes, I am sure you will find this list helpful.

The Copperplate Collective – Sanjana Chatlani

Sanjana is a wonderful calligrapher and the owner of the Bombay Lettering Company. I have previously learnt from her in the Copperplate Checklist workshop and attended several live sessions conducted by her and observed tremendous improvement in my script following her classes.

  • There is an option for to buy the startup kit which has been specifically curated for this course and includes everything you need to get started and saves you from the trouble of finding the supplies yourself. In the startup kit, you also receive a personalised name tag, written by a pro calligrapher.
  • All the letterforms and concepts are explained in great detail and using ovals. This is very helpful in self-critiquing you work.

  • You have access to the course for 2 years.
  • Very reasonably priced.
  • No prior knowledge is required.
